who are we?
Feeling you are part of the community in which you live is not easy nowdays as most people do not work where they live and it is not always easy to get to know people when you do not live in a traditional village. 
OurSpringfield was conceived during 2004. The original idea came from the Springfield Community Group from the Oasis Church in Chelmsford and was to be a portal to pull together the various community activities and events that go on in this area.
A lot of the information about Springfield is already available but is all number of books, leaflets and internet sites. This site, hopefully, will have bought all this information together so that you can get to it within a couple of clicks.
As the site developed we have found out about all sorts of groups in the area and have spoken to some really interesting people. Spare time nowdays is a premium, but we would really encourage you to find out what is happening in your community and to get involved. You have some great neighbours!
As a Christian group we naturally would love you to get involved in Church life and there are some great Churches in our area. You can find out about them from the 'Our Churches' page, which will link you through to their websites.
If you run an organisation in the area do let us have the details, providing they meet the 'family friendly' status of the site we will be pleased to give you a mention. If you run a business we can give you a free listing or better still we can arrange an advertisement on our front page or on specific pages on the site at a small cost.
