Tennis-
Springfield Tennis Club is looking for new members
This small, friendly tennis club is moving its base back to the Lionmede
Park Tennis Courts, off Springfield Road. It meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm starting from April to September.
New members would be very welcome. There’s nothing to worry about if
players are rusty, but the club does not have coaching so regrets it cannot
take absolute beginners or children.
The subscription is £35 for the season, which is excellent value for money.
Springfield is a long established club. On club nights we play mostly
doubles, men’s, women’s and mixed. The club also has a men’s team in the
Brentwood and District League for anyone interested in more competitive
tennis. Many members also continue playing on Sunday mornings throughout the winter.

Volleyball
Chelmsford Volleyball Club is an open club to anyone interested in learning and playing volleyball. Training sessions are on Thursday evenings, between 7pm and 10.30pm September to May. Website.

Ballet:
Springfield School of Ballet has been established in Springfield for nearly 30 years.
Ballet lessons are held on Mondays in the Springfield Community Centre, Lawn Lane (behind Perryfields Junior School) with examination classes held on Wednesdays and Fridays in the Church Hall of All Saints Church, Springfield Green.
Additionally Tap and Jazz Classes are held on Thursdays in the Springfield Community Centre, Lawn Lane. The Tap classes lead to examinations under the auspices of the Imperial Society of Teachers and Dancers (ISTD).
Pupils are welcome from age 3 years old and anyone interested should contact Maureen Place, who has Registered Teacher Status from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), on telephone number 01245 262176 or mobile 07929 125197.

Scrapbooking is a way of creating a wonderful album of your treasured album recording the moments, times dates and thoughts. It's easy and there is No requirement to be artistic. Come and join our friendly club that meet at Writtle Agricultural College alternate Wednesdays and everynow and then for a full day on a Sunday.

Swimming
Beaver Swim School operate from New Hall Pool on Mondays from 3.45- 5.45 and take all abilities from children 3 years old up to adults. The lessons run for half an hour, term time, and we have a maximum of 8 per class, with plenty of assistance in the water for the little ones, and a strong emphasis on enjoyment and water confidence. Springfield Women's Institute meets the second Tuesday in the month at 2:30pm in their own hall on Springfield Green Chelmsford. They aim to provide friendship, speakers, educational visits and recreational pursuits, all with laughter. They opened 85 years ago and would welcome new members.
